API documentation
All routes use GET and return JSON unless noted. Catalog endpoints read saved PostgreSQL data. Page size is 24; page values must be between 1 and 100.
/api/healthReturns HTTP 204 when PostgreSQL is ready; otherwise 503.
/api/search?q=alien&page=1Searches MovieBox, saves live results, and combines them with matching saved titles. Query is required and limited to 120 bytes.
/api/trendingFetches the provider’s current trending titles and stores them in the catalog.
/api/catalogBrowses saved database titles. Filters: q, media_type (movie/series), genre, language, director, exact year, year_from, year_to, min_rating, max_rating (0–10), min_plays, min_searches, min_trending, sort, and page. Set include_details=true to include the full stored metadata object. Sort values: latest, rating, trending, playing, searched, semantic. Semantic also requires q.
/api/catalog/top-ratedReturns saved titles in descending IMDb rating order; accepts the same filters as /api/catalog.
/api/catalog/language/{language}Filters saved titles by audio language. Example: /api/catalog/language/Hindi?sort=rating.
/api/catalog/filtersReturns available media types, genres, languages, directors, years, IMDb rating bounds, and saved title count.
/api/details/{id}Fetches current title details from the provider and saves those details for database filtering.
/api/play/{id}?season=1&episode=1Resolves temporary playback sources. Series requests supply both season and episode. Use direct=true to return a provider URL and headers.
/stream/{token}/https/{host}/{path}Temporary same-origin media and HLS/DASH segment proxy paths returned by playback resolution.
/download/{token}/https/{host}/{path}Temporary MP4 download or supported DASH-to-MP4 relay path returned by playback resolution.
IMDb, director, genres, and languages are available after title details have been fetched and stored. Search/play/trending counts are cumulative across users.
